Sunday Evening Opening Session
The Prime Minister of Norway, Thorbjorn Jagland, will open ICTE Oslo 1997 with a welcome to ICTE attendees on Sunday evening, August 10, in a general session in the Sophus Lie auditorium on the University of Oslo Blindern campus. Prime Minister Jagland, representing the Labour (Social Democrat) party, took office in October, 1996, succeeding long-time Prime Minister Gro Harlem Brundtland.
Tuesday Evening Reception
On Tuesday evening, Per Ditlev-Simonsen, Mayor of Oslo, will host a reception for ICTE attendees at the Oslo City Hall, where the ceremony is held each year for the awarding of the Nobel Prize for Peace.
