FOR CONFERENCE PROCEEDINGS
Instructions to Authors for Producing
Camera-Ready Copy
THE DEADLINE FOR RECEIPT OF YOUR MANUSCRIPT BY ICTE IS April 13, 2001.
The 19th International Conference on Technology and Education will publish Conference Proceedings, which will include those papers actually presented at ICTE South Africa, and which will be made available (at additional cost) to all Delegates to the Conference. All Presenters should read these instructions on the preparation of manuscripts for publication, and follow them carefully. Failure to do so may result in your manuscript being omitted from the Proceedings. Please note the April 13, 2001 deadline. If your completed and properly formatted manuscript and accompanying materials are not received by the deadline, your work will not be included in the ICTE South Africa Proceedings. (Note that Presenters and Co-Presenters who have not already paid their Presenter Registration fee must pay their Presenter Registration fees by February 16, 2001 in order to take advange of the Presenter Registration fee of $265 US. Presenters paying after February 16, 2000 must pay the late Presenter Registration fee of $330 US.) (See the Call for Papers and the Presenter Application / Registration form for list of fees, dates, and payment instructions.)
Finally, be sure to complete and return a Copyright Permission Form with your Manuscript.
SUBMISSION OF MANUSCRIPTS Each author will be responsible for preparing their manuscript in camera-ready form for direct photo-offset reproduction. Submit Two (2) copies of each manuscript: an original plus one (1) copy, which may be reproduced. Manuscripts must be mailed flat and unfolded in a stiffened envelope to prevent damage in transit. MANUSCRIPTS MUST BE RECEIVED BY April 13, 2001.
A maximum of three (3) 8 1/2" x 11" pages per manuscript will be strictly adhered to, inclusive of illustrations, tables, figures, references, etc. PLEASE DO NOT FOR ANY REASON EXCEED THIS MAXIMUM.
In addition, include in the envelope with your manuscript a cover sheet (which will not be published with your manuscript) identifying the Paper ID assigned to your manuscript, and including your name, address, telephone and fax number, and e-mail address, if any.
Note: Since all papers presented at ICTE Tallahassee 2001 will be published both in the printed, bound ICTE Tallahassee 2001 Proceedings and also on the ICTE Web Site, we request that in addition to the printed manuscript, presenters provide a copy of the manuscript on diskette using either Microsoft Word or Corel WordPerfect.
PREPARATION OF MANUSCRIPTS The following instructions should be read carefully. Carefully note the format requirements. Among the points to be noted are the style and spacing of the title and by-lines, the methods of indicating section headings, and the treatment of equations and references.
If at all possible, manuscripts are to be provided in 12-point Times or Helvetica fonts. This allows the Proceedings to have a consistent look.
Margin measurements and related formatting and layout guidelines are as follows:
Top & Bottom Margins: 1 inch
Right & Left Margins: 1.5 inches
Pages should be numbered using a pencil on the reverse side. DO NOT TYPE PAGE NUMBERS ON YOUR MANUSCRIPT.
The title of the paper should commence at the left-hand margin of the first page and should be typed in block capitals. Do not center the title.
The name(s) of the author(s) should be typed below the title and commence at the left-hand margin.
Affiliations of the author(s) should be typed at the bottom of the first page. Affiliations must relate to the name(s) of the author(s) by reference marks (for example, *, ° , ", etc.) to distinguish each authors affiliation.
The manuscript text should be single spaced.
Section headings (if used) should be in block capitals and centered in the middle of the page.
Equations (if used) should be centered on the page, with a blank line above and below. They should be numbered consecutively through the paper, using Arabic numbers in parentheses at the right-hand margin. Symbols may be carefully handwritten if necessary. Please use black ink if hand-written symbols are used.
References to existing literature should be given in the text rather than as indices. Bibliography should be in American Psychological Association (APA) style.
Figures must be drawn or reduced to the proper size for inclusion on the page with the text. Figures should be numbered in order throughout the text, and each figure should have a caption.
Tables must be drawn or reduced to the proper size for inclusion on the page with the text (like figures). Tables should be numbered in order through the text and each table should have a caption.
Photographs (as opposed to figures or line drawings) may be used if necessary. They should not appear throughout the text, but should be mounted on the final page with numbers and captions as appropriate. Lettering on the photographs should be no smaller than the 12-point font used in the body of the manuscript. All photographs must be mounted within the margin specifications using an appropriate photo-mounting adhesive. DO NOT USE TAPE to mount photographs.
Erasures must be avoided. Errors of one or two letters may be corrected with liquid paper or similar means.
IMPORTANT NOTE TO AUTHORS IN REFERENCE TO COPYRIGHT
If your manuscript has not been previously published, either in whole or in part, you agree, by submission of your manuscript and as a condition of publication, to assign copyright of the material to the 19th International Conference on Technology and Education. The Copyright Form must be completed, signed by each author, and returned with your submission in order for your manuscript to be published.
If your manuscript has previously been published, either in whole or in part, you are reminded that it is your responsibility to obtain formal approval in writing from the copyright holder for the publication of the material, and to make appropriate and full acknowledgment of the copyright holder in the manuscript for publication. Publication in the ICTE Tallahassee 2001 Conference Proceedings will not preclude your offering the material for subsequent consideration for publication by other journals.
